STREET DEPARTMENT DIVISION OPERATIONS

Edgewater’s Street Department crew is responsible for the year-round maintenance of:

• 240 lane miles of city streets, this includes filling potholes
• Mowing and trim various right-of-ways
• Trimming trees within the right-of-way and on city properties
• Maintains 25 barricades
• 309 stop signs
• 449 street name signs
• 357 other directional signs such as speed, children at play, curve, etc.
• 21 miles of sidewalks
• Street markings and replace when needed: i.e. stop bars.

The Street Department crew assists other Environmental Services Division when needed. This crew is on standby during any hurricane/natural disaster and is on call all year around for any emergency that may need to be addressed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
