Reclaim Water - Dry Season - Temporary Restrictions
UPDATE: 04.30.2025 10:30am
The current 10 am – 4 pm reclaimed water system down time is not adequate at this time, as seen by having to turn it off shortly after 7 am this morning. Starting tomorrow morning (May 1st) we will be shutting off the reclaimed system from 8 am – 4 pm. This will provide us 2 more hours during peak plant influent flows to build some additional reclaimed water storage. Irrigation system contractors will need to perform maintenance prior to 8 am or after 4 pm. We will not be pressurizing the reclaimed water system other than the designated hours.
Thank you to all of our reclaimed water customers for your understanding of the dry season restrictions.
UPDATE: 04.29.2025 9:00am
Please be aware that the reclaimed water system will be shut offline when the levels reach the maximized withdrawal rate, this can happen at any time during the hours of regular operations (4:00pm-10:00am).
Tips for this dry season:
- reclaimed water pressure may be lower than usual
- if your reclaimed water is not working in the morning, try again in the afternoon after 4:00pm
- please only water when needed, even though we have no restrictions on reclaimed water during the hours of 4:00pm-10:00am
- you do not need to call unless your reclaimed water doesn't work in the early evening (4:00pm-6:00pm)
Thank you to all of our reclaimed water customers for your understanding of the dry season restrictions.
UPDATE: 04.25.2025 6:45am
Due to overwhelming use of reclaimed water during the night the reclaimed water had to be shut down at 6:45am this morning. We are expecting to have the reclaimed water back on at the scheduled 4:00 PM time this afternoon. Please be aware that we will be shutting the reclaimed water system off when the levels reach the maximized withdrawal rate.
Due to the ongoing dry conditions and in order to conserve irrigation water availability for all customers, beginning April 24, 2025 Staff will deactivate the Reclaimed Water Distribution pumps between the hours of 10am to 4pm each day. This protocol will continue until routine rainfall has returned.
Daytime usage of reclaimed water has been much higher than normal and is depleting the supply from our tanks during the day before the majority of users have an opportunity to use the resource in the evening and overnight hours. The City augments the supply of reclaimed water with surface water withdrawn from the borrow pit adjacent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The water level in the borrow pit remains adequate and the city is maximizing its’ withdrawal rate, however, this amount still does not meet the current reclaimed water demand.
