Scholarship Program

In 2011 the City Council created the Local School Scholarship Program to encourage students residing in the City of Edgewater further their education beyond high school and to assist local schools with enhanced educational programs.

The City pays scholarship funds directly to the recipient's choice of school.  25% of any funds exceeding $15,000 annually will be equally divided among the public and accredited private schools serving students from the City of Edgewater in grants for educational purposes determined by the Principal and approved by the Scholarship Committee.

The Scholarship fund is financed through fundraising events, such as the Princess Ball, monthly donations on resident utility bills, as well as donations by residents, businesses, and friends.

Princess Ball

Each year, the “Princess Ball’ is held at the YMCA. This is an exciting night for our children to enjoy an evening of dancing, music, light refreshments and fun with their parents and friends. Local businesses and volunteers help support the event and make it a memorable occasion.
