Office closures:

City offices will close today (Tuesday, August 29, 2023) at 3:00 PM and remain closed tomorrow (Wednesday, August 30, 2023).  It is anticipated that offices will reopen at 8:00 AM on Thursday, August 31. 2023.

Sand pile locations:

  • Fire Station 57                        2628 Hibiscus Drive               
  • Mango Tree Lake                   901 Mango Tree Drive           

Sand piles are:

  • Both locations will be accessible 24 hours a day
  • Residents should bring their own shovels and bags outside of staffed hours at the Mango Tree Lake location.  The Fire Station 57 location will not be staffed.
  • Bags may also be purchased at local home supply centers or double-bagged, heavy-duty garbage bags may be used. 

Sand bag information:

  • The Mango Tree Lake location will be staffed for sand bag distribution at Mango Tree Lake on:
    • Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM
  • 10 bags will be available per household with proof of Edgewater residency, while supplies last

Debris Information:

No yard debris will be picked up on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 due to anticipated poor weather conditions.  City crews are and will be working their way through the City on Monday (August 28, 2023) and Tuesday (August 29. 2023) to pick up any yard debris at the curb.  Residents are encouraged not to generate any additional unnecessary debris during storm preparations.  Experiences with prior storms have shown that limbs are more sustainable intact on the trees versus loose debris on the street.  Loose vegetative debris must not be placed in drainage swales or canals as this can disrupt flow before, as well as during and after the storm.

Trash and recycling information:

Trash and recycling pick-ups are continuing on their normal schedules.

Edgewater, Florida – With the possibility that weather related to Tropical Storm Idalia will impact our community (currently under a Tropical Storm watch) in the coming days, the City has stocked two locations throughout the City with sand piles.
