Chief Charles “Chas” Geiger serves as the Chief of Police for the City of Edgewater Police Department, where he leads with a deep commitment to professionalism, accountability, and community partnership. A lifelong resident and third-generation member of the Edgewater community, Chief Geiger has dedicated his career to public service in his hometown. Since joining the department in 2011, he has served in multiple capacities including patrol, K9, Target Impact Unit and special projects, where his leadership helped secure critical grants, modernize training facilities, and enhance the department’s operational readiness. His local roots and family legacy of service continue to shape his leadership philosophy and connection to the community he proudly serves.
Promoted to Captain in 2022 and subsequently appointed Chief of Police in 2025, Chief Geiger now oversees all operations and administrative functions of the department, guiding a team of exceptional professionals committed to delivering high-quality law enforcement services. Known for fostering innovation and professional development across all ranks, he remains focused on advancing the department’s mission of service, integrity, and collaboration. Chief Geiger considers it both an honor and a lifelong goal to serve his hometown, continuing to build upon the Edgewater Police Department’s legacy of excellence.
