Are There Gangs In Edgewater?
Florida Statue 874.03 defines a criminal street gang as "a formal or informal ongoing organization, association,
or group that has as one of its primary activities the commission of criminal or delinquent acts, and that
consist of three or more persons who have a common name or common identifying signs, colors, or symbols and have
two or more members who, individually or collectively, engage in or have engaged in a pattern of criminal street
gang activity."
The Edgewater Police Department has established an e-mail address that citizens can forward any information they
may have on suspected gangs in their neighborhoods. This e-mail address is gangunit@cityofedgewater.org.
Citizens using this e-mail address can stay anonymous and still provide the Police Department with information
to keep the streets of Edgewater safe.
