| D.A.R.E. / SRO |
The Edgewater Police Department teaches the DARE program in all local elementary schools in the Edgewater and Oak
Hill areas. This program is taught by a trusted law enforcement Officer to reduce drugs and violence by students.
We employ a State certified School Resource Officer (SRO) who not only instructs our DARE program, but also teaches
Gang Resistance Education And Training (GREAT) at New Smyrna Beach Middle School. Active in all three communities,
the SRO is a very familiar face with local youth who can rely on him as a counselor, mentor and a coach when and
where needed.
