The Edgewater Police Department encourages citizens to report traffic safety issues they observe in their neighborhood. A traffic unit exists for the main purpose of furthering public/pedestrian safety and safe motor vehicle operation within our community.
The traffic unit utilizes four Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycles. This unit is responsible for planning, analyzing, monitoring and implementing traffic-related activities. These activities include operation of speed measuring devices, traffic crash investigations, and responding to traffic-related complaints. Motorcycles are often used in these situations in which a traditional police cruiser has been less effective.
The Traffic Sergeant oversees the operation of the unit and coordinates activities related to the unit. A traffic complaint form can be downloaded below, picked up from the Police Station front desk, or called in at 386-424-2427 during normal weekday hours of operation. All listed complaints wherein a complaint leaves his/her name and telephone number will be re-contacted and advised as to what was discovered and action taken to address the issue.
