Engine 55
Engine 55 is a Class A Fire Engine that was purchased in
2004 from Pierce Manufacturing. This engine contains 750 gallons of water on board and can
pump 1250 gallons of water a minute. It contains on onboard Class A and B foam system.
Engine 55 has seating for six (6) firefighters and Advanced Life Support equipment.
Edgewater Fire Rescue staffs this engine with a minimum of three (3) firefighters with at
least one (1) Paramedic. The ALS medical equipment that is carried by EFR is the same
equipment that is found in any ALS ambulance in the state of Florida. All traditional
firefighting equipment is also carried (1000 ft of 5" supply hose, 500 ft of 3" supply hose
and over 550 ft of pre-connected attack lines). This engine carries three ladders; one
(1) 10ft attic ladder, one (1) 24ft extension ladder, and one (1) 14 ft roof ladder.
Extensive state of the art electronic systems that are in use are dispatch connected
Mobile Data Computer (MDC) with GPS and Automated Vehicle Locators. The MDC allows for the
engine to show maps of where the engine is located and the travel route to the emergency.
Squad 55
Squad 55 is a 1998 Chevrolet/Centennial Special Operations truck. This truck fills many roles for
the department and city. This truck carries specialized equipment that assists in Water Rescue, Mass
Casualty Incidents (MCI), Cascade Air System, Heavy Vehicle Extrication, Communications, Confined Space,
Hazardous Materials, and Advanced Life Support Medical. Squad 55 has a state of the art Mobile Data
Computer (MDC) with GPS and Advanced Vehicle Locator system. The Special Operations truck has seating
for two (2) and generally responds along with other apparatus.
 
Brush 55
Brush 55 is a 1987 Chevrolet 1 ¼ -ton Military 4x4 Pick-Up truck. This truck is currently on
loan from the Florida Division of Forestry at no cost to the city. Currently Brush 55 carries 225
gallons of water and the water pump can produce over 300 gallons per minute. The water tank and
pump are both mounted on a removable unit. All modern day wildfire tools (chainsaw, hand tools,
floating pump, and GPS) are located on this unit. This unit is currently located at Fire Station 55.
Engine 157
Engine 157 is a 1988 FMC/Spartan Class A Fire Engine. This vehicle was purchased new in 1988 as was
considered state of the art at that time. This vehicle serves as a back-up engine and is placed into
service during breakdowns, and large incidents/disasters. This engine carries 750-gallons of water and
has a 1,250-gallon per minute pump. This engine can carry six (6) firefighters and carries all of the
needed basic life support equipment. A 1000 feet of 5" hose, 500 feet of 3" hose, and over 550 feet of
pre-connected attack lines. Also carried are a 10-foot attic ladder, 14-foot roof ladder, and 24-foot
extension ladder.

Fire Marshall 55
The Fire Marshall has currently been assigned to FM 55. A 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, with Police
package, FM 55 is fully equipped with a modern vehicle warning system. FM 55 is the primary
responding vehicle for fire investigations inside the city. Located inside is all of the initial
equipment needed to start work on any fire investigation. Other equipment includes an 800 MHz radio
system, Medical Equipment, and full Personal Protective Equipment.
 
Division 55
Division 55 is a 1999 Ford Explorer 4x4 and is assigned to the Captain in charge Operations.
This vehicle has all of the latest equipment including, Mobile Data Terminal with Automated Vehicle
Location, Global Positioning System, Computerized Mapping and Call Location. The primary function
of this vehicle to act as Incident Command and assist with the Incident Management System (IMS). A
complete IMS system with board, vests, and radios are located on board. To aid in this function
Division 55 has 1 on board 800 mhz radio and 2 hand held radios with headset. Also on board is a
full compliment of medical equipment, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, and Personnel Protective
Equipment.
Training 57
This 2006 Ford Econoline 350 was purchased as a multi use vehicle. This vehicle has seating for
fifteen (15) and is equipped with heavy duty towing package. Its equipment includes a complete Whalen
warning light package with siren. Training 57 carries all of the standard basic Life Support
equipment needed for a medical emergency. This vehicle can be used for trainings, during disasters,
as well as city functions.

Rescue 57
Rescue 57 is a 1993 E-One/International firefighting and transport capable rescue truck. This
truck was purchased from Seminole County Fire Rescue in 2004 for approximately $8,000.00 and was
refurbished at Pride of Florida. Rescue 57 is a fully staffed and licensed Advanced Life Support
vehicle with the State of Florida. This vehicle is staffed with a crew of two (2) with at least
one (1) paramedic. This vehicle carries all of the same equipment that you would find on any transport
Ambulance in the county. One of the most unique features of this Rescue truck is that it has a
200-gallon water tank and a fire pump. Members on Rescue 57 carry all of the basic firefighting
equipment (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, Hand Tools, and Rescue Equipment). Our Regional
Communications Center stays connected to the crew with a state of the art Mobile Data Computer (MDC)
with GPS system and Automated Vehicle Locators.

Tanker 57
Tanker 57 is a 2006 Pierce/Kenworth 2500-gallon water tanker. This vehicle was purchased through a
grant awarded by the Federal Government (the value of this grant was $200,000). This tanker carries
2500-gallons of water, a 3,000-gallon dump tank (tank that is placed at the fire scene to hold water)
has seating for three (3) firefighters and is capable of pumping over 750 gallons a minute. Tanker 57
carries all of the basic first aid equipment as well as all of the basic firefighting equipment. Some
of the equipment that is carried is 20 feet of hard suction hose, 350 feet of pre-connected attach
hose and 300 feet of supply hose, 500-gallon a minute master stream, large diameter intake and
discharges, hand tools, and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Brush 57
Currently Brush 57 is housed at Fire Station 57. Brush 57 is a Heavy Duty style brush truck that
operates on a 1984 Military 2 ½-ton 6x6 chassis. Holding 1000 gallons of water Brush 57 is one of
the largest Brush trucks in the area. All of the latest equipment including hand tools, chainsaw,
and GPS are located on this Brush truck. This vehicle is on loan, free of charge, to the city from
the Florida Division of Forestry. Due to Brush 57 being a heavy duty brush truck it has been called
to respond all over the County.
Utility 57
Utility 57 is on loan to the department from the State of Florida Division of Forestry at no cost.
This truck once served the U.S. Military as a troop carrier during Operation Dessert Storm. Today the
Utility truck serves as an all-purpose vehicle for the Fire Rescue department. As a 1987 Chevrolet
11/4 ton four wheel drive truck it serves many purposes. Some of the daily uses for this vehicle are
to pull the city emergency services boat, Fire Rescue rehabilitation trailer, and it is also used as a
back-up truck for Brush 55.
