| Edgewater Fire-Rescue Association |
The Edgewater Fire-Rescue Association is a group of individuals whose mission is to support the City
of Edgewater Department of Fire and Rescue Services, the City of Edgewater and the surrounding
communities by providing assistance during emergencies and disasters, sponsoring community events and
youth programs and facilitating a positive social environment.
During recent hurricanes, association members provided meals for every city employee in the City of
Edgewater who worked during the storms. In addition, the association provided their Association Hall,
located on Hibiscus Avenue, as a shelter for emergency personnel. From this location,
firefighter/EMTs, police officers and public works crews based communications and responded to calls
before and after each storm had passed.
Association members volunteer their time and coordinate their efforts to provide positive community
events.
They coordinate the 4th of July fireworks event for the City of Edgewater each year, as well as an
annual golf tournament and assorted pancake breakfasts and spaghetti dinners. Besides these events,
association members regularly help out at youth sporting events in the community.
Anyone is welcome to become a member of the association. Meetings are held the first Thursday of every
month at 7:30 p.m., at the Association Hall on Hibiscus Avenue. For more information, call 409-3333.
