Flu Shots

Beginning today, Edgewater Fire-Rescue will be offering flu shots at both fire stations (Station 55 – 1605 South Ridgewood Ave. and Station 57 – 2628 Hibiscus Drive). Department paramedics will be administering the shots Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Department personnel will remain subject to emergency calls during these times so there may be times when there is not a paramedic available to administer the flu shots. Each station will have a large yellow banner posted near the roadway when shots are available.

The cost per shot is $25, payable via cash or check. For the first time, Edgewater Fire-Rescue is also able to accept Medicare as payment. Each patient must provide their Medicare card and picture ID in order to process the Medicare payment.

Two special “drive through” flu shot days are planned for Saturday, October 25th and Saturday, November 8th. During the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on these days shots will be offered in the apparatus bays of Station 57. Patients can remain in their vehicles and “drive through” to get their shot. The station will also be open on Saturday, December 13th after the City’s Christmas Parade from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM for patients to walk in for flu shots. Acting Chief Steve Cousins advises “We are very excited about now being able to accept Medicare as a form of payment since this will allow more local access to flu shots to that segment of our community who rely on Medicare”.

Payments By Phone

Per Resolution 2008-R-12, effective October 1, 2008, there will be a $5.00 per transaction administrative fee for making any payments over the phone. If you would like to setup your utility account for online payments, please click the link on the left for instructions.
