What to do if important emails are not getting through to your inbox.

With more and more federal security regulations, email providers are increasing their filtering and blocking of emails. Unfortunately, this means more and more often important emails are getting mislabeled as spam or junk. This is a list of suggestions you can try to ensure your important emails, like your utility bills, make it to your Inbox. You may need to click on your email provider’s help section for more specific instructions.

  1. Mark an email as not spam or not junk in the junk folder before moving it to the inbox.
  2. Add the sender’s email address to your contacts. (Edgewater Utility Bills are sent from CustomerService@CITYOFEDGEWATER.ORG)
  3. Place trusted contacts or websites on the safe sender or safe domains list. This is sometimes referred to as the white list.
  4. Set up a filter or rule to send emails from a trusted contact or website directly to the inbox.
